With a background in Creative Media Production, set design, and visual merchandising—plus years of hands-on experience in the furniture industry—Stephanie McCarthy brings a unique eye and deep industry insight to every project.
Her passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces led her naturally into home staging, where she combines creativity with a strong focus on client experience. Stephanie is known for going above and beyond to deliver results that not only meet expectations but exceed them.
A proud Wigram local, Stephanie is deeply invested in the Ōtautahi Christchurch community and is committed to growing Lately with purpose. As the business evolves, she plans to source more furniture, décor, and artwork sustainably, while continuing to support local makers and creatives.

Our Japandi-inspired aesthetic blends the simplicity of Japanese design with the warmth of Scandinavian interiors, creating calm, grounded spaces that speak to modern buyers. Each project is carefully curated with a mix of imported and locally sourced pieces, including bedding, cushions, and artwork handcrafted in-house. Select items are also available for purchase.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to mindful design—design that considers people, place, and purpose. We’re growing with intention and giving back, donating 5% of every project to local charities that make a difference.
